Sharyn earned a BBA (1990) and MPA from the
University of Georgia and has spent her career
in developing and managing urban recycling programs.
Sharyn is the past President of the Georgia
chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North
America and is recognized as a regional leader
in solid waste management.
She is also active in the National Recycling
Coalition, The Southeast Recycling Development
Council and the Georgia Recycling Coalition.
As an Associate Sharyn is responsible for research and analysis of biomass from urban sources.
In her career in the industry, she has:
• Designed, implemented and managed public recycling programs and policy.
• Consulted with state agencies and local governments on recycling programs.
• Conducted needs assessments for local government programs.
• Developed protocol and conducted field research.
• Prepared local and state government reports.
• Collected and monitored performance data on local government recycling programs.
• Developed recycling grant proposals.
